As South Sudan continues to build the next generation of the Bright Stars, Moses Otuba Norbert Oliha is a young defender who deserves to be on the radar of the U-23 national team.
The versatile defender, whose preferred position is centre-back, began his football journey at Juba Bridge Football Academy before joining Viva Stars FC in January 2026.
Since then, Otuba has continued to develop, gaining valuable experience alongside established defenders such as Lawrence Otti and Emmanuel Patrick. Every training session provides another opportunity for the youngster to learn from experienced players and sharpen his understanding of the game.
He is also being coached by U-23 assistant coach Nasir Yousif, giving him another valuable connection to the national-team pathway.
On the pitch, Otuba has already shown qualities that stand out for a young centre-back:
Excellent reading of the game
Strong aerial ability
Confidence building from the back
Pace and recovery speed
Defensive versatility
Growing tactical awareness
Our recommendation to U-23 head coach Simon James: keep Moses Otuba Norbert Oliha on your scouting radar.
He may still be developing, but his progress at Viva Stars suggests a defender with the potential to contribute to the next generation of South Sudanese football.
Young. Fearless. Developing. One to watch.
Moses Otuba Norbert Oliha β remember the name. π
