The club confirmed that Ajo Minari, an attacking midfielder who has represented South Sudan at Under-17 and Under-18 level, has signed a four-year contract, while Benson Joseph, an Under-17 and Under-18 national team goalkeeper, has penned a three-year deal.
Announcing the double signing, El Merriekh SC Bentiu expressed confidence in the duo's potential.
"We are delighted to announce the signing of two talented players from Future Stars Academy. Ajo Mineri Alex, an Under-17 and Under-18 National Team attacking midfielder, has joined the club on a four-year contract. His creativity, vision and technical ability make him an exciting addition to our squad.
We also welcome Benson Joseph, an Under-17 and Under-18 National Team goalkeeper, who has signed a three-year contract. His talent, determination and potential will strengthen our goalkeeping department for the future.
We are pleased to welcome both players to the club and look forward to supporting their development as they begin this new chapter in their careers," the club said in a statement.
For Benson Joseph, and Ajo Minari the move represents their first professional contract. The young goalkeeper paid an emotional tribute to Future Stars Football Academy, the club that nurtured his talent.
"To FSFA–Future Stars Football Academy, thank you for shaping me, training me, and turning me into the player and person I am today. You gave me a home when I needed it most. This is just the beginning. I carry all of you with me," Benson wrote on his Facebook page.
The pair are expected to travel to Uganda to join El Merriekh SC Bentiu's pre-season camp as the champions step up preparations for the CAF Champions League preliminary rounds and the start of the 2026/27 South Sudan football season.
The transfers also underline the growing influence of Future Stars Football Academy in developing players capable of making the leap to the highest level of domestic football. Reflecting on the academy's philosophy, the technical director coach, Bilal Felix stated:
"Our responsibility as coaches is not just to prepare players for the next match—it's to prepare them for the next stage of their football journey and for life."
The signings of Benson Joseph and Ajo Minari are the latest examples of that vision in action, as two of South Sudan's emerging talents embark on the next chapter of their careers with the country's reigning champions.
