JUBA, South Sudan – Young goalkeeper Benson Joseph has departed Juba by road as he begins his journey to link up with El Merriekh SC Bentiu ahead of the new football season.
Joseph, who agreed to join the South Sudan Premier League and South Sudan Cup champions on 14 July, is travelling to Kampala, Uganda, where the club is conducting their pre-season preparations ahead of the CAF Champions League preliminary stages and the domestic campaign.
The talented shot-stopper is expected to join his new teammates upon arrival after completing his move from Future Stars Football Academy.
The transfer marks an important step in Joseph’s career as he prepares to compete at the top level of South Sudanese football and gain continental experience with El Merriekh SC.
