The South Sudan Volleyball Federation (SSVF) has introduced a new strategy aimed at building stronger national volleyball teams for both men and women through a nationwide talent identification program.
The initiative will see South Sudan divided into ten states and three administrative areas, with each region expected to participate in competitions designed to discover and develop the country’s best volleyball talents.
The participating regions include Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Western Bahr el Ghazal, Warrap, Lakes State, Central Equatoria, Eastern Equatoria, Western Equatoria, Jonglei, Upper Nile, Unity State, Abyei Administrative Area, Pibor Administrative Area, and Ruweng Administrative Area.
According to the federation’s plan, players who perform well during the regional competitions will be selected for an All-Star Games event. The standout performers from the All-Star Games will then be integrated into the national teams later.
The SSVF believes the strategy will help expand the national team talent pool by giving players from all parts of South Sudan an opportunity to compete and showcase their abilities. The move is expected to strengthen grassroots volleyball development, improve player identification, and create a clear pathway for emerging talents to represent South Sudan on the international stage.
