The South Sudan Minifootball Federation (SSMF) has taken another significant step towards international recognition after its president, Victor Lawrence Lual, held a strategic meeting with World Minifootball Federation (WMF) President Filip Juda.
The discussions focused on South Sudan's provisional membership of the WMF, institutional development, and technical cooperation as the country's governing body prepares for the WMF General Assembly in Jakarta, Indonesia, in September 2026, where its membership is expected to be formally ratified.
Lual thanked the World Minifootball Federation for granting South Sudan provisional membership and reaffirmed the federation's commitment to upholding WMF statutes, governance principles and development objectives.
He also updated the WMF leadership on the progress made in establishing and registering the South Sudan Minifootball Federation, while outlining plans to launch national competitions and expand the game across the country.
The meeting also explored areas where the WMF could support South Sudan, including governance training for federation officials, access to technical manuals and administrative resources, educational programmes for coaches and referees, and guidance in establishing national competitions and development pathways.
WMF President Filip Juda welcomed the progress made by the federation and encouraged its leadership to continue strengthening its administrative and technical structures ahead of the General Assembly.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing their commitment to working together to promote the growth of minifootball in South Sudan and integrate the country into the global minifootball community.
