Third-division side Gumbo FC have pulled off an impressive upset after defeating first-division outfit Amarat United FC 3–0 in Round Three of the Juba Football Association (JFA) South Sudan Cup.

The match was played at Zahra Playground in Juba, where Gumbo FC produced a commanding performance to overcome their higher-division opponents and strengthen their hopes of progressing further in the competition.

The result highlights the unpredictable nature of cup football, with Gumbo FC demonstrating that teams from the lower divisions can compete with and overcome established top-flight sides.

Amarat United, meanwhile, will be disappointed to exit the competition following a three-goal defeat to their third-division opponents.

Gumbo FC will now look to build on this impressive result as they continue their South Sudan Cup campaign.
