El Merriekh FC have booked a fourth-round meeting with Al Huriya FC in the Juba Football Association South Sudan Cup after defeating second-division side Lologo FC 2-0 in Round 3, at the Zahra playground.
Emmanuel Chol opened the scoring with a right-footed strike from a tight angle before Dominic Angelo sealed the victory with a close-range header.
Lologo threatened to make the contest difficult for the former champions, finding the net twice, but both goals were ruled out for offside as El Merriekh secured their place in the next round.
Their next opponents, Al Huriya FC, progressed after Bajur FC failed to turn up for their scheduled third-round fixture, resulting in a forfeit victory for Al Huriya.
The upcoming fourth-round encounter will present another test for El Merriekh as they continue their pursuit of the South Sudan Cup, while Al Huriya will look to build on their progression to the next stage.
The meeting between the two sides promises another competitive chapter in the Juba cup campaign.
