Egypt’s U18 Boys’ National Volleyball Team advanced to the quarterfinals of the African U18 Boys’ and Girls’ Volleyball Championship after defeating Morocco in straight sets in their final Group A match.
Playing at Pioneers Club in Alexandria, where the tournament is being held from July 20 to 30, 2026, Egypt delivered a strong performance to claim a 3-0 win with set scores of 25-14, 25-15, and 25-17.
The victory marked a strong response from Egypt after their 3-1 defeat against Nigeria in the second round. They had earlier started their campaign with a 3-0 win over Burundi, finishing second in Group A behind Nigeria to secure qualification for the quarterfinals.
Morocco, on the other hand, ended their group-stage campaign without a victory after losing all three matches. They suffered 3-0 defeats against Nigeria, Burundi, and Egypt.
Group A featured Egypt, Nigeria, Burundi, and Morocco.
Egypt will now face Algeria, who finished third in Group B, in the quarterfinals on Monday. A win would see the Egyptian side advance to the semifinals, where they will face the winner of the Tunisia versus Morocco quarterfinal tie.
The African U18 Boys’ and Girls’ Volleyball Championship brings together 14 national teams competing for continental glory in Alexandria.
