JUBA, South Sudan — The South Sudan Volleyball Federation (SSVF) will officially open the Inter-States Independence Volleyball Tournament at Nimra Talata in Juba, with Central Equatoria State set to feature in both the men’s and women’s opening fixtures.
The tournament, organised by the South Sudan Volleyball Federation, brings together teams from different states as part of the country’s Independence celebrations, using volleyball to promote sporting talent, unity and national cohesion.
In the men’s competition, Central Equatoria will face Warrap State at 1pm, before the women’s fixture between Central Equatoria and Ruweng Administrative Area at 3pm.
The tournament is being held under the theme “One Nation, One Game, One Future,” highlighting the role of sport in bringing communities together and creating opportunities for athletes across South Sudan.
Volleyball fans in Juba are encouraged to turn up at Nimra Talata and support their teams as the competition gets underway.
