Cameroon's U18 boys' volleyball team produced an outstanding performance to defeat Algeria 3-0 at the 2026 African U18 Volleyball Championship, recording their second consecutive victory in the competition.
Cameroon controlled the match from start to finish, claiming the three sets 25-14, 25-18 and 25-16 at the championship, which is taking place from July 20 to 30 at the Pioneers Club with 14 African nations competing.
The victory continues Cameroon’s strong recovery after beginning the tournament with a 3-1 defeat to Tunisia. They responded by beating Libya 3-1 before extending their winning streak with an emphatic straight-sets triumph over Algeria.
Algeria, meanwhile, suffered their second defeat of the tournament. They had opened their campaign with a narrow 3-2 loss to Libya before edging Tunisia 3-2, but were unable to cope with a dominant Cameroon side.
With the tournament entering its decisive stages, the race for the continental title and qualification for upcoming international competitions remains highly competitive among the 14 participating nations.
