BLIDA, Algeria — Zambia’s Copper Queens played out a 1-1 draw with Algeria in an international friendly match on Sunday as both teams continue their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The encounter was played at the Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in Blida, where the two sides used the fixture as part of their pre-tournament preparations ahead of the continental showpiece.
Both Zambia and Algeria created opportunities in an evenly contested match, eventually settling for a share of the spoils after 90 minutes.
The friendly forms part of Zambia’s build-up programme as the Copper Queens continue their preparations for WAFCON 2026, where they will aim to compete among Africa’s leading women’s football nations.
