JUBA, SOUTH SUDAN | SPORTS HUNTER SOUTH SUDAN - Yei Joint Stars delivered one of the most emphatic victories of the South Sudan Women’s Premier League season, thrashing Malakia SC 19-0 in Week 3 at Juba National Stadium to reclaim the top spot in the standings.

The Super Queens, coached by Harriet Sony, dominated the encounter, with Aluka Grace leading the scoring spree with six goals as Yei Joint Stars registered their third consecutive league victory to move to nine points.

Grace found the net in the 32nd, 48th, 57th, 69th, 72nd and 76th minutes, delivering a clinical performance in front of goal.

Esther Anzoo also enjoyed a productive afternoon, scoring four times in the 18th, 27th, 56th and 59th minutes, while Adong Joan contributed a brace with goals in the 15th and 83rd minutes.

Amuna Kenneth scored in the 45+1st minute, Esther Poni added another in the 74th minute, and Mary Anger completed the scoring in the 82nd minute.

The result underlined Yei Joint Stars’ attacking strength and strengthened their position in the early title race, with nine points putting Harriet Sony’s side back at the top of the standings.

For Malakia SC, the heavy defeat leaves questions to address as the competition continues.

With the Super Queens firing on all cylinders, attention now turns to whether their rivals can find a way to halt their momentum in the coming weeks.

Sports Hunter South Sudan will continue following the women’s league as the race for the title develops.
