Dar Es Salam - Uganda made a strong start to their CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, defeating Djibouti 4-1 at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Isima Magala opened the scoring for Uganda in the fifth minute before Djibouti’s Ishak Tahir responded in the 22nd minute to bring the sides level.
Uganda regained the lead through Richard Okello in the 60th minute, before Magala struck again two minutes later to complete his brace.
Odiya added Uganda’s fourth goal to complete a convincing victory for the East African side.
The result gives Uganda an early advantage in Group B of the CAF U20 AFCON qualifiers, while Djibouti will look to bounce back in their next fixture.
The qualifiers are being staged in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with teams competing for places at the CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
