South Sudan Premier League runners-up Jamus SC have confirmed the loan transfer of Liberian midfielder Jagbey Konneh to Ethiopian side Mechal on a season-long deal.
The club’s board of directors announced the move, wishing the midfielder success ahead of his new challenge in Ethiopian football.
“The board of directors announces the transfer of midfielder Jagbey Konneh to Ethiopian side Mechal on a season-long loan deal. The club extends its best wishes to Jagbey for a successful season ahead,” Jamus SC said in a statement.
The transfer announcement comes a day after Jamus SC were knocked out of the CECAFA Kagame Cup Rwanda 2026 at the semi-final stage by Rwandan club Rayon Sports.
Konneh, who joined Jamus SC in January on a three-year contract, was not a regular feature in head coach Saber Ben Jabria’s plans during the regional tournament.
The Liberian midfielder will now join Mechal as he looks for more playing opportunities and a chance to continue his development in Ethiopian football.
