JUBA - South Sudan Women's Cup champions Yei Joint Stars FC continued their preparations for the 2026/27 season with a 2-0 victory over South Sudan Artists FC in a fundraising friendly match.
The encounter at the Bulluk playground on Saturday, organized to raise funds in support of the club's upcoming campaign, saw the Super Queens produce an impressive performance.
An own goal gave Yei Joint Stars the lead before Nankinga Moreen sealed the victory with the second goal.
The reigning South Sudan Cup holders are using the pre-season period to build momentum ahead of their participation in the 2026 CECAFA Women's Club Championship as well as the new domestic football season.
Following the match, the club expressed its appreciation to the South Sudan Artists FC team, including MT7 Degreez, Papa Lee 64, Menimen of Coozos Clan, and all those who took part in making the fundraising event a success.
Yei Joint Stars also thanked supporters and well-wishers for their financial contributions and for purchasing the club's official home and away jerseys, describing the support as vital to the continued growth of women's football in South Sudan.
