JUBA, South Sudan — Salam Aweil made a strong start to their South Sudan Premier League 2026/27 campaign, defeating Olympic Renk 4–0 in Week 1 at Bulluk Playground in Juba, on Thursday.

Akol Kony opened the scoring for Salam Aweil before Adim Madout doubled the advantage. Madout then completed his brace to give Salam a comfortable lead.

The victory gives Salam Aweil three points from their opening match and moves them into second place in the league standings, behind leaders Al-Hilal SC and ahead of Malakia SC and Jamus SC on goal difference.

For Olympic Renk, the defeat leaves them 13th in the table, second from bottom, without a point after the opening round.

The result puts Salam Aweil among the early pace-setters as the 2026/27 South Sudan Premier League season gets underway.
