JUBA - Newly promoted to South Sudan Premier League club Munuki SC have completed the signing of experienced midfielder Manas Gilbert on a one-year contract following his departure from El Merriekh FC Juba.
The Juba-based club officially announced the transfer on Thursday, welcoming the veteran midfielder to the "Snakes" family as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of their debut in the top flight.
In a statement, Munuki SC said:
"The Club is delighted to announce the signing of Manas Gilbert from Merriekh Juba on a one-year contract. Gilbert is not just a baller but a leader in this game. Welcome to the family!"
Gilbert joins Munuki SC after an outstanding eight-year spell at El Merriekh FC Juba, where he served as club captain and helped the Red Devils win two South Sudan Cup titles.
The midfielder established himself as one of the club's most influential players, earning a reputation for his leadership, consistency and experience.
His arrival is expected to provide a major boost to Munuki SC as the newly promoted side prepare for the 2026/27 South Sudan Premier League campaign.
The snakes will be hoping Gilbert's experience and winning mentality can help them compete successfully in their first season among the country's elite.
Munuki SC secured promotion to the South Sudan Premier League after winning the Juba Football Association first division league title, and finished second in the South Sudan National League and have been active in the transfer market as they build a competitive squad for the new season.
Gilbert becomes one of the club's marquee signings as the Snakes continue their preparations for the upcoming campaign.
