JUBA — Two teams arrived at the Bulluk Playground on Tuesday evening looking to turn draws into victories. In the end, it was Salam FC who delivered, coming from behind to defeat Super Stars FC 3–1 in Week 3 of the South Sudan Premier League.
Salam entered the contest after being held to a goalless draw by Atlabara FC, while Super Star came into the encounter following a 1–1 draw against defending champions El Merriekh SC.
Super Star were quickest out of the blocks and took the lead in the 18th minute, with Chol A putting Coach Abdul Majid’s side in front.
Salam refused to let the early setback dictate the contest. Matur Meer restored parity in the 41st minute, ensuring the sides went into the interval level at 1–1.
The momentum shifted decisively after the restart.
Meer completed his double in the 51st minute, putting Coach Aguer Mayiek’s Salam FC ahead for the first time.
And Salam needed only two more minutes to strengthen their grip on the match. Cyer Bol found the net in the 53rd minute, making it 3–1 and completing the turnaround.
Super Stars were unable to find a response as Salam held on to secure a valuable three points.
The result sends Salam FC temporarily top of the league with seven points, while Super Star remain 12th on one point, leaving them with work to do as the campaign progresses.

Salam FC will look to carry their winning momentum into their next fixture against one-time champions Jamus SC.
For Super Sta, the wait continues. Their next league assignment against Al Ghazala SC has been affected by Al Ghazala’s CAF Confederation Cup commitments in Dar es Salaam, where they face Singida Black Stars in the second leg of the preliminary round.
Super Stars are next scheduled to face Kator FC on October 10.
