Juba Queens FC returned to training on Tuesday morning at Jamus Playground, but head coach Rina Thomas and members of the club’s technical team were not present at the session, according to a reliable source familiar with the team’s activities.

The session followed Juba Queens’ 4-1 defeat to Yei Joint Stars in their opening South Sudan Women’s Premier League fixture on Saturday at Juba National Stadium.

The match was Juba Queens’ first official competitive appearance since the club was established earlier this year.

Sports Hunter understands that Rina and the technical team were absent from Tuesday’s session. The club has not, at the time of publication, issued a public statement explaining the absence.

Juba Queens are now preparing for their next league assignment as they look to regroup following their opening-day defeat.

Sports Hunter South Sudan has contacted the club for clarification and will update this report should an official response be provided.
