Juba, South Sudan- Juba Queens FC have announced that the club has mutually agreed to part ways with members of its technical staff, effective immediately.
The announcement comes only days after the side, also known as the Nile Divas, suffered a 4-1 defeat to Yei Joint Stars in their first official match since the club’s establishment.
In a statement issued by the club, Juba Queens thanked the departing technical staff for their dedication, commitment and contribution during their time with the team.
“The club appreciates the technical staff for their dedication, commitment, and contribution to the team during their time with Juba Queens FC.”
The club added that it would provide further information on its technical team in due course.
Short-lived start
The changes come less than two weeks after the club appointed Rina Hope Thomas as head coach on September 1, 2026, ahead of the 2026/27 season.
At the time of her appointment, Juba Queens said:
“We are delighted to welcome Rina Hope Thomas as our head coach for the 2016/2027 season. She is a great coach with valuable experience and we look forward to a successful season with her in our team.”
The club began training on the same day.
Emmanuel Drichi was subsequently appointed assistant coach on September 4, completing the initial coaching setup as Juba Queens prepared for their maiden competitive campaign.
The Nile Divas played their first recorded friendly on September 13, defeating Jamus Academy 6-0 in a dominant display.
However, their first official outing produced a very different result, with Juba Queens falling to a 4-1 defeat against Yei Joint Stars.
Technical team changes
The departure of members of the technical staff now represents another significant development in the early history of Juba Queens FC, coming shortly after their first competitive appearance.
The club has not yet announced who will take charge of the team following the changes.
Juba Queens said further updates regarding the composition of the technical team “will be communicated in due course.
For the newly established Nile Divas, attention now turns to the next phase of their debut campaign and the appointment of a new technical setup.
