Jamus SC’s potential route to the knockout stage of the CECAFA Kagame Cup Rwanda 2026 has been revealed, with the South Sudanese club set to face a strong regional opponent in the semi-finals depending on their final position in Group B.
The Buffaloes, who have been drawn in Group B alongside defending champions Singida Black Stars, six-time champions Simba SC, and Mogadishu City, will be aiming to secure a place in the last four of the prestigious regional competition.
If Jamus SC finish top of Group B, they will qualify directly for the semi-finals, where they could face one of the leading teams from Group C. Potential opponents include Al Hilal SC, Rayon Sports, Tusker FC, or KVZ FC.
However, should the South Sudan Premier League runners-up finish as the best second-placed team across the three groups, their semi-final challenge will come from Group A, with possible opponents including APR FC, Vipers SC, Gor Mahia, or Garde Républicaine FC.
The semi-final matches are scheduled for 4 August 2026 at Kigali Pele Stadium, with the winners advancing to the tournament final on 7 August 2026. The losing semi-finalists will compete for the third-place position on the same day at Amahoro Stadium.
Jamus SC will begin their CECAFA Kagame Cup campaign on 25 July against defending champions Singida Black Stars at Kigali Pele Stadium, before facing Simba SC on 28 July and completing their group stage fixtures against Mogadishu City on 31 July.
The tournament will run from 24 July to 7 August 2026 in Kigali, Rwanda, featuring 22 matches as clubs from the CECAFA region compete for one of East and Central Africa’s most prestigious football trophies.
Under new Tunisian head coach Saber B. Jabria, Jamus SC will be targeting a historic semi-final qualification and a strong campaign against some of the region’s most established clubs.
