Jamus SC will be without key forwards Data Elly and Ezibon Malish for the upcoming 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup after the club confirmed that both players have departed for Cairo, Egypt, to continue their rehabilitation programs.
In a statement, Jamus SC said:
"The team's duo Data Elly and Ezibon Malish are departing for Cairo to complete their rehabilitation programs."
Data Elly is continuing his recovery after successfully undergoing surgery at Real De Care Hospital on 3 February 2026, while Ezibon Malish is also on the road to recovery following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery.
The absence of the two attacking players is a significant setback for Jamus SC ahead of the regional tournament, where they will represent South Sudan after finishing as runners-up in the 2025/26 South Sudan Premier League season.
The 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup will be held in Rwanda from 24 July to 7 August. Jamus SC have been drawn in Group B and will begin their campaign on 25 July against Singida Black Stars before facing six-time champions Simba SC on 28 July.
The Buffaloes will conclude the group stage against Mogadishu City Club on 31 July.
Jamus SC will be hoping to overcome the absence of the injured duo and make a strong impression in one of East and Central Africa's biggest club competitions.
