JUBA– South Sudan Premier League club Jamus SC will take on Sudanese giants Al Merrikh SC in an international friendly match after the conclusion of the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup.
The agreement was reached after a delegation from Al Merrikh visited Jamus SC's team camp in Kigali Rwanda, on Thursday.
The Sudanese club was represented by Administrative Director Ali Jaafar, Football Director Ayman Addar, and Executive Secretary Ashraf Awad, who were received by Jamus SC President Mohanad Ahmed.
During the meeting, both clubs discussed matters of mutual sporting interest and explored ways to strengthen cooperation between the two sides.
The highlight of the discussions was an agreement to organize a friendly match once the CECAFA Kagame Cup comes to an end.
The fixture will provide Jamus SC with a valuable opportunity to test themselves against one of Sudan's most successful clubs as they continue preparations for the new domestic season.
Jamus SC are currently representing South Sudan at the CECAFA Kagame Cup, while Al Merrikh withdrew from this year's regional tournament before it got underway.
Despite their withdrawal, the Sudanese giants have maintained ties with the competition by engaging with the South Sudanese former champions and arranging the post-tournament encounter.
The friendly is expected to further strengthen football relations between the two neighboring clubs while offering fans an exciting cross-border clash between one of South Sudan's top sides and one of Sudan's traditional powerhouses.
