Kigali - Jamus SC's impressive run at the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup came to an end with a 2–1 defeat against Al Hilal SC in the third-place playoff on Friday.
After a goalless first half, Al Hilal broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute through Ansumana Samura, before Abdelrazig Yagoub Omer Taha doubled the Sudanese side's advantage in the 66th minute.
Jamus SC fought back late in the contest, with Majak Simon reducing the deficit in the 90th minute, but the South Sudan Premier League runners up were unable to find an equaliser as Al Hilal held on to secure the bronze medal.
Despite missing out on a podium finish, Jamus SC leave the tournament with plenty of positives after becoming the first South Sudanese club to reach the semi-finals of the CECAFA Kagame Cup, marking a historic achievement for the club and South Sudanese football.
Al Hilal SC conclude their campaign with the bronze medal, while Jamus SC finish fourth after an outstanding continental journey.
