Juba - South Sudan Premier League runners-up Jamus SC have confirmed that goalkeeper Kubi Appriah is scheduled to undergo right shoulder surgery on Sunday morning at Kigali Specialized Orthopedic Hospital after sustaining an injury during training.
The club announced the development in a statement on its official social media platforms, adding that a recovery timeline and rehabilitation programme will be communicated after the surgery and further medical assessments.
Apriah has not featured for the Buffaloes at the ongoing 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup, with first-choice goalkeeper Majak Maling starting all three Group B matches as Jamus secured a historic place in the semi-finals under new head coach Saber Ben Jabria.
The Ghanaian goalkeeper joined Jamus SC on 22 December 2025 and quickly became part of the club's squad during their 2025/26 campaign.
One of the memorable moments of his debut season came in January 2026, when he was beaten by a stunning long-range free-kick from "Madison" Antony Billy, whose effort flew into the top corner of the net during a South Sudan Premier League match.
Jamus will now hope Apriah makes a full recovery as the club continues its historic run in the CECAFA Kagame Cup, where they are set to face Rayon Sports in the semi-finals.
