South Sudan Premier League runners up Jamus SC have been handed a semi-final showdown with Rwanda’s Rayon Sports in the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup after the Rwandan side confirmed their place in the last four with a decisive victory over Al Hilal SC.

The Buffaloes, who are making their debut in the regional competition, topped Group B and secured a historic qualification to the semi-finals. They discovered their opponents after Rayon Sports defeated Sudanese giants Al Hilal SC 1–0 in the Group C decider at Amahoro Stadium on Saturday.

Jamus have enjoyed an impressive debut campaign, beginning their tournament with a 2–0 victory over defending champions Singida Black Stars before holding Tanzanian giants Simba SC to a goalless draw. They sealed qualification with a dramatic comeback win over Mogadishu City FC to finish top of Group B.

Rayon Sports have also produced a perfect group-stage record. The Rwandan giants opened their campaign with a 2–0 win over KVZ, followed by a 1–0 victory against Tusker FC, before completing Group C with another 1–0 triumph over Al Hilal to claim top spot.

The semi-final will feature two of the tournament’s standout attacking players. Rayon Sports will look to forward Anthonio Atisso Kodjo, who has scored two goals in the competition, while Jamus SC will rely on rising star Mario Taban, who has contributed two goals and one assist in three matches all coming in as second half substitute.

The clash between the Buffalos  and Rwanda’s Gikundiro on the 4th Aug, 2026 at the Kigali Pele Stadium in Rwanda promises to be a historic encounter as Jamus continue their remarkable CECAFA Kagame Cup debut.
