JUBA - Jamus SC made a winning start to the 2026/27 South Sudan Premier League season, defeating newly promoted Super Stars FC Bor 2-0 at Buluk Playground in Juba on Sunday, 23 August 2026.
The Buffaloes took control of the contest early and eventually broke the deadlock in the 35th minute through playmaker Joseph Iringu, who finished clinically to put Jamus ahead.
Jamus doubled their advantage just a minute later when Bandjougou Diallo found the back of the net, giving the Buffaloes a 2-0 lead before the break.
Super Stars, competing in the top flight for the first time after securing promotion, struggled to find a response as Jamus controlled the midfield and maintained pressure throughout the opening half.
After the interval, Jamus continued to dictate proceedings and created several opportunities to extend their lead. However, the Buffaloes were unable to add a third goal as Super Stars' defence held firm.
Jamus ultimately saw out the match to secure all three points and begin their Premier League campaign on a winning note.
The victory moves Jamus SC to the top of the South Sudan Premier League table with three points and a +2 goal difference after the opening round.
For Super Stars, the defeat marks a difficult introduction to top-flight football, with interim head coach Abdul Majid Sabri Alli now tasked with preparing his side for their next league fixture against the defending champions El Merriekh SC.
The result also gives Jamus an early boost under new head coach Saber Ben Jabria, following the club's historic fourth-place finish at the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup.
