JUBA, South Sudan — Jamus SC centre-back Mohamed Kesra has been called up to the Sudan national team, according to an announcement from the South Sudan Premier League club, today morning.
Jamus announced the news on its official channels, saying the defender has been selected for Sudan’s Saudi Arabia training camp ahead of the upcoming African qualifiers.
The call-up marks another international opportunity for Kesra, who has established himself as one of Jamus SC’s defensive options. He has previously represented Sudan at senior international level, with football records listing him as a centre-back for Jamus FC.
The Sudanese defender has also featured for Jamus in domestic competition, and regional competitions playing a key role in Jamus SC historic run in CECAFA Kagame Cup in Rwanda, where the Buffaloes finished 4th.
Jamus congratulated Kesra on his selection and wished their centre-back success with the Sudan national team.
Sports Hunter South Sudan understands the call-up through Jamus SC’s announcement, while the Sudan Football Association’s official confirmation has not yet been located.
