JUBA - Greater Oronyo became the first team to book a place in the final of the 10th Monyie-Miji Football Tournament after edging Angario 1-0 despite finishing the match with 10 men at Bulluk Playground in Juba on Monday evening.
The decisive moment came in the 22nd minute when Olic, currently a free agent following the expiry of his six-month contract with Viva Stars FC, found the back of the net to give Greater Oronyo the lead.
However, Greater Oronyo were reduced to 10 men in the 77th minute after Olic was sent off, forcing his teammates to defend their slender advantage for the remainder of the match.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, the American Otuho side produced a disciplined defensive display to frustrate Angario and secure a hard-fought victory, sealing the first spot in the tournament final.
Olic's match-winning performance earned him the Man of the Match award. The striker also strengthened his lead in the tournament's Golden Boot race, taking his tally to seven goals.
Greater Oronyo will now await the winner of the second semi-final as they prepare for the championship match.
