Kigali- Garde Républicaine FC goalkeeper Liban Mohamed Said has expressed confidence ahead of his side's opening match of the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup, insisting the Djiboutian champions are focused on delivering a strong performance against Uganda's Vipers SC.
Speaking during the pre-match press conference in Kigali, Rwanda, ahead of Friday's Group A encounter, the goalkeeper played down the reputation of their opponents.
"Maybe they are a good team; they call themselves Vipers. But I have never heard of them before," Liban said.
"We are going to do something tomorrow."
Garde Républicaine have been drawn in a competitive Group A alongside Vipers SC, APR FC, and Gor Mahia FC, with Friday's fixture marking their first test in the regional tournament as they continue preparations for the upcoming CAF inter-club competitions.
