El Merriekh FC claimed a 2-1 victory over Gurei City FC earlier in the day in Week 3 of the Juba Football Association (JFA) First Division League, popularly known as the Konyokonyo League.

The victory temporarily lifted El Merriekh to fifth place in the standings with six points, strengthening their position in the early stages of the campaign.

For Gurei City, the defeat extended a difficult start to the season, leaving them 15th and last in the standings with zero points after three weeks.

El Merriekh will look to build on the result in their upcoming fixtures, while Gurei City face the challenge of getting their campaign back on track as the competition progresses.

With the league still in its early stages, both sides will be eager to improve their positions as the battle for points continues.
