JUBA, South Sudan – Al Huriya FC president Dr. Joseph Monday has challenged his players to maintain the club's strong record in away friendly matches, revealing plans for a pre-season tour that includes fixtures in Torit and Lirya.
Speaking in a video shared by Hattrick 24, during the club's players' get-together, Monday said Al Huriya would travel to Torit to face City Boys before taking on Lokoya in Lirya as preparations intensify for the 2026/27 Konyokonyo League campaign.
"We are going to Torit to play a strong team. Whenever we have travelled outside for friendly matches, we have never been beaten. We defeated Mundari in Terekeka, sorry, then we went to Mundri and beat the Muru all. Now we are going to Torit we are goint to beat the City Boys at home. Are you ready for the challenge?" Dr. Monday said.
The Flames president urged the players to approach the fixtures with the same determination that has characterised the club's previous away trips.
"When we are coming back from Torit, we are going to beat Lokoya in Lirya. Last we beat those in Nesitu, we want to return as winners," he added.
The pre-season tour is expected to give newly appointed head coach Samuel Gabriel an opportunity to assess his squad ahead of Al Huriya's second season in the Juba Football Association First Division League, where the Flames are targeting promotion to the South Sudan National League.
