JUBA, South Sudan — Diva Sports has issued an apology after a post shared on its social media page drew criticism, saying the content did not reflect the values or standards of the women’s sports platform.
In a statement, Diva Sports said it does not support content that mocks, ridicules or targets teams and players for engagement.
“That post does not define Diva Sports,” the platform said.
Diva Sports said its focus remains on promoting women’s sport, telling meaningful stories and celebrating athletes and teams while contributing positively to the growth of the game.
The platform also took responsibility for the post and acknowledged the need for stronger oversight of its content.
“Our admins will do better going forward,” Diva Sports said.
The apology comes as women’s sport continues to gain greater visibility across South Sudan and the wider region, with digital sports platforms playing an increasingly important role in promoting athletes, teams and competitions.
Diva Sports concluded its statement by thanking its audience for their continued trust and support, while reaffirming its commitment to being a credible and respectful platform for women’s sport.
