JUBA, South Sudan — The South Sudan Women’s Premier League clash between Juba Queens FC and Atlabara FC was abandoned after 20 minutes on Wednesday after Atlabara were left with too few players to continue.

Atlabara started the Week 4 encounter with eight players and had no substitutes available on the bench. Several players went down with injuries after Juba Queens scored their second goal, further reducing Atlabara’s numbers on the pitch.

The referee subsequently called off the match when Atlabara could no longer field the minimum number of players required to continue.

Under Law 3 of the FIFA Laws of the Game, a match cannot continue if either team has fewer than seven players. The final decision on the result remains subject to the applicable competition regulations and the relevant league authorities.

The circumstances surrounding the abandonment have yet to be officially addressed by the league authorities.
