JUBA, South Sudan – Al Huriya FC president Dr. Joseph Monday has expressed confidence that newly appointed head coach Samuel Gabriel has the credentials to guide the club to promotion from the Juba Football Association First Division League.
Speaking in a video shared by Hattrick 24, during the club's players' get-together ahead of the new season, Monday praised Gabriel's experience and outlined the club's long-term commitment to developing its coaching staff.
"Every season we have a competent and well-dedicated technical team, and this year we have a head coach in Mr. Samuel Gabriel. He is coaching Future Stars Academy, helped lead Atlabara to the Premier League, and now he is going to lead Al Huriya to the Premier League," Dr. Monday said.
Gabriel recently completed his CAF B Diploma coaching course in Juba and joins Al Huriya ahead of the club's second season in the Konyokonyo League.
The Flames president also pledged to support the coach's continued professional development if the club secures promotion.
"Our coach has a CAF B Diploma, and when Al Huriya reaches the Premier League, we are going to sponsor him to take his CAF A Licence. I believe [in him,]" Monday added.
Gabriel previously served as assistant coach under Bilal Felix when Atlabara earned promotion to the South Sudan Premier League during the 2024/25 season.
Al Huriya will be hoping his experience can help the Flames achieve their ambition of qualifying for the South Sudan National League, the final stage on the road to the South Sudan Premier League.
