JUBA – Al Huriya FC president Dr. Joseph Monday has set an ambitious target for the 2026/27 season, declaring that the club is determined to win the Konyokonyo league, play in the National League and secure promotion to the South Sudan National League.
Speaking in a video shared by Hattrick 24 during the club's players' get-together ahead of the new season, Monday said he believes the club has assembled the right blend of youth, talent and commitment to compete for the title.
"This is a new season where I see hope. I'm seeing next season we are playing in the stadium. I say this with confidence because of the spirit and the players we have signed," Monday said in the video.
Al Huriya finished fifth in their maiden Konyokonyo League campaign last season with 45 points after winning 11 matches, drawing 12 and losing only five.
The Flames also boasted one of the league's strongest attacks, scoring 53 goals—the joint second-highest tally—and had the fourth-best defence after conceding just 28 goals.
With more than ten new arrivals already signed, the club believes it is ready to challenge for promotion.
The Konyokonyo League champions qualify for the South Sudan National League, the final qualifying stage for promotion to the South Sudan Premier League.
