Sudanese football powerhouse Al Hilal SC has officially become a sponsor of the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup after signing a sponsorship agreement ahead of the regional tournament in Kigali, Rwanda.
The agreement was signed during a press conference attended by officials from the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) and the Rwanda Football Federation.
Representing Al Hilal, the club's Executive Secretary and Head of Delegations, Yasser Al Jaali, said the club was proud to support the tournament and praised CECAFA for consistently organizing one of the region's most prestigious club competitions.
"Al Hilal is delighted to sponsor this tournament. We highly appreciate the efforts of CECAFA in ensuring the competition is held regularly, reflecting the strength and excellence of the regional association. Al Hilal has always participated in the tournament because we believe in the benefits it brings to clubs and the development of football in the region," Al Jaali said.
Rwanda Football Federation President Fabrice Shema welcomed the partnership, expressing his satisfaction with Rwanda hosting the tournament and commending Al Hilal for supporting this year's edition.
He also praised the Sudanese club's contribution to regional football and its successful experience competing in the Rwanda Premier League.
CECAFA Acting Executive Director Jane Sinende also thanked Al Hilal for its sponsorship, reaffirming the regional body's commitment to delivering a successful tournament that meets its objectives.
The 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup will be staged in Kigali from July 24 to August 7, featuring leading clubs from across East and Central Africa, including South Sudan's Jamus SC and Al Ghazala FC.
