JUBA, SOUTH SUDAN — Ababiku Zubeda has moved into the leading goalscorers’ conversation after scoring a hat-trick in Juba Queens FC’s emphatic 10–0 victory over Bentiu City SC in Week 2 of the inaugural South Sudan Women’s Premier League.

Zubeda began her scoring spree immediately after half-time, finding the net in the 46th minute. She added a second six minutes later before completing her hat-trick in the 70th minute.

The three goals take Zubeda’s league tally to three, putting her among the leading scorers after Week 2.

Her hat-trick also makes her the first player to score three goals in a single match in the inaugural South Sudan Women’s Premier League.

Zubeda’s achievement came on the same afternoon that her captain Lydia Justin scored four goals to move to the top of the scoring chart with four goals.

The Juba Queens pair therefore occupy the leading positions among the scorers following the Nile Queens’ record-breaking attacking display against Bentiu City.
