South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) President Francis Amin Michael has held talks with FIFA President Gianni Infantino on the progress and future development of football in South Sudan.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page on Saturday, Amin said he briefed the FIFA president on the steps taken by his administration since assuming office, highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen football structures in the country.
The SSFF president also informed Infantino about the federation’s upcoming plans, including the launch of the South Sudan Women’s Premier League and other football development initiatives aimed at improving the game at all levels.
According to Amin, FIFA President Gianni Infantino assured the federation of FIFA’s continued support towards the growth and development of football in South Sudan.
“Mr. Infantino on his part assured me of FIFA's support towards the development of football in South Sudan,” Amin said.
The SSFA president expressed confidence that, with continued commitment and support, South Sudan will achieve its football development ambitions.
“Slowly we shall reach our goals as South Sudanese,” he added.
The meeting comes as the SSFA continues efforts to expand football programmes, promote women’s football, and build stronger foundations for the sport across the country.
