Juba- South Sudan’s U20 national team continued their impressive preparations with a commanding 5–1 win over Viva Star FC, recording their third consecutive victory ahead of the continental qualifying campaign.
The Junior Bright Stars produced another strong attacking display at Juba National Stadium, with the result providing a further boost to their preparations ahead of their opening qualifier.
South Sudan will begin their qualifying campaign on 15 September 2026 against Burundi, before taking on Kenya on 19 September.
The two matches will provide the Junior Bright Stars with an early test as they look to make a strong start to their pursuit of a place at the CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
For Viva Star FC, the defeat marked their first loss during their current preparations.
The fighters are also using its friendly schedule to build towards the Juba Football Association First Division League and the South Sudan Cup.
With the qualifiers now approaching, South Sudan U20 will take confidence from their three-match winning streak as they prepare for the competitive challenge ahead.
