Juba - South Sudan U20 defeated South Sudan Premier League side Holy Family FC 2-0 in a friendly match at the Juba National Stadium on Thursday morning as preparations continue for the CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
After a goalless first half, Edmond Thomas opened the scoring in the 50th minute, chipping the ball over the Holy Family goalkeeper to give South Sudan the lead.
Yak Bol doubled the advantage in the 80th minute, converting from a rebound to seal the Young Bright Stars' second consecutive friendly victory.
Coach John Alier's side had previously defeated Al Huriya FC 3-1 in another warm-up match.
South Sudan will begin their CAF U20 AFCON qualifying campaign against Burundi on September 15, before facing Kenya at Uhuru Stadium on September 19.
The results of the qualifiers will determine South Sudan's chances of advancing to the semi-finals of the 2026 CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tournament in Dar es Salaam.
