Kigali, Rwanda- South Sudan’s girls face a demanding challenge at the CAF African Schools Football Championship — CECAFA Zone qualifiers, after being drawn into a four-team Group A alongside hosts Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda.
The team is under the guidance of Coach Lilian Prima, with the tournament set to provide another important regional test for South Sudan’s emerging female footballers.

Group B features South Sudan U-15, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi, while Kenya, Sudan and Tanzania join Rwanda in the other boys’ group.
The championship will be staged in Kigali from September 3 to September 5, 2026, with matches taking place at the FERWAFA Complex Stadium and Kigali Pele Stadium.
USD 100,000 up for grabs
The tournament offers more than regional recognition, with substantial prize money available to the leading teams.
The champions will receive USD 100,000, followed by USD 75,000 for the runners-up and USD 50,000 for third place.
For South Sudan’s girls, the competition offers an opportunity to measure themselves against regional opposition, gain international experience and put their talent on the regional stage.
