JUBA, South Sudan β€” Sports Hunter South Sudan has received reports of possible changes to the South Sudan U17 squad ahead of the 2026 CECAFA U17 Zonal Qualifiers in Rwanda.

According to information reaching Sports Hunter South Sudan, a significant number of the 62 players initially summoned may not have met the required MRI age-verification criteria.

The reports suggest that the development has prompted the football authorities to consider bringing in additional players as preparations for the regional tournament continue.

Sports Hunter South Sudan also understands that newly identified players have been requested to attend MRI testing at JMC Hospital in Juba on Sunday morning.

However, the reports have not yet been officially confirmed, and Sports Hunter South Sudan is seeking clarification from the relevant football authorities.

The number of players affected, as well as any potential changes to the squad, remains unclear pending official confirmation.

Sports Hunter South Sudan will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
