Rainbow FC opened their 2026/27 Juba Football Association First Division League campaign with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over newly promoted Tahrir FC at Bulluk Playground.

Kulang Peter proved the difference between the two sides, scoring the lone goal to hand Rainbow all three points in their Week 1 encounter.

The game took a dramatic turn late on when Rainbow were reduced to 10 men, with Samnando shown a second yellow card and sent off.

Tahrir pushed for an equaliser after the dismissal, but Rainbow held their ground to protect their narrow advantage and seal a winning start to the new campaign.
