Nicola Peter Orat has begun his duties as second assistant coach at El Merriekh SC Bentiu, taking charge of training players who did not travel with the team to Egypt for their CAF Champions League Round of 32 return leg against Pyramids FC.

The CAF C Diploma holder conducted his first training session on Saturday morning following his appointment on a one-year contract with the reigning South Sudan Premier League champions.

El Merriekh face is currently facing difficult task in their continental campaign after falling 3-0 behind to Pyramids FC in the first half of the return leg, leaving them trailing 4-0 on aggregate following their 1-0 defeat in the first leg in Juba.

Orat joins head coach Claudio Loboko’s technical team after his five-month agreement with Jamus SC expired in September.

At the request of the coach, Sports Hunter South Sudan has agreed to keep the financial details of Orat’s contract confidential.

The appointment marks a new chapter for Orat as he begins his work with the Bentiu-based club while the team continues its continental campaign in Egypt.
