JUBA — Future Stars Football Academy has taken another step in strengthening its technical and professional standards after organizing a one-day workshop for its coaches and staff, led by Technical Director Bilal Felix.
The workshop focused on the Code of Ethics for Football Academy Staff and Coaches, while also addressing one of the recurring challenges in youth football—why many academy coaches become discouraged by financial expectations instead of focusing on long-term player development.
Speaking during the session, Coach Bilal reminded participants that success in youth football cannot be measured by immediate rewards but by the lasting impact coaches have on the lives and careers of young players.
"Future Stars Football Academy's vision is a marathon mission, not a sprint mission," Bilal said.
"Our vision is long-term. It requires passion, patience, resilience and commitment. A farmer waits patiently for the harvest, while a dealer looks for the quickest return. At Future Stars, we are developing players for the future, and that journey takes time."
Bilal also stressed that coaches have a responsibility that extends beyond preparing players for weekend matches.
"Our responsibility as coaches is not just to prepare players for the next match—it's to prepare them for the next stage of their football journey and for life."
The workshop encouraged coaches to uphold the highest ethical standards, lead by example and create a positive learning environment where young footballers can develop both as athletes and as individuals.
The initiative forms part of Future Stars Football Academy's long-term strategy to build a strong coaching culture while continuing to produce talented players capable of progressing to elite clubs and the South Sudan national teams.
