Al Ghazala SC have officially started their preparations for the 2026/27 season, with the club beginning pre-season training as they prepare for a historic CAF Confederation Cup campaign and the upcoming domestic season.
The Wau-based side opened their training programme under Head Coach Rizik Alphaza Hakim, alongside the fitness coach and technical staff. The first session focused on fitness assessments and physical evaluations as the coaching team measured the players' readiness and established the foundation for the season ahead.
Al Ghazala secured their place in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary stages after finishing as runners-up in the South Sudan Premier League, while league champions El Merriekh FC earned the country's top continental qualification spot.
The achievement marks a major milestone for Al Ghazala, who will now represent South Sudan on the African stage once again.
The technical team is expected to use the pre-season period to improve the squad's physical condition, tactical organisation, and team chemistry as the club prepares for the challenges of competing both domestically and in continental football.
With CAF Confederation Cup fixtures approaching, Al Ghazala SC are determined to build a competitive squad capable of making a strong impression in Africa while continuing their pursuit of success in South Sudan football.
